Abstract: 275ChemInform Abstract The novel Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes (IVa) and (IVb) (yield 82/60%) and a Ni analogue of (IVb) containing the polyether group O(CH2CH2O)3Me are synthesized as shown for the example (IVa). 1H NMR studies confirm that all the complexes exist as a diastereomeric mixture. In one case ((IVa)) separation of atropisomeric chiral complexes is achieved by preparative chromatography of SiO2.
