ChemInform Abstract: The Inverse Perovskite (Ca2EuNx)Sn: A Rare Example for a Homogeneously Mixed‐Valent Compound?

Abstract: Mixed-Valent Compound? -The cubic inverse perovskite (Ca2EuN0.75)Sn is synthesized by solid state reaction of Ca, EuN, and Sn in a molar ratio of 2:1:1 (Ta ampule, 1213 K, 192 h and 1323 K, 96 h). The compound is characterized by powder XRD, XAS, Moessbauer spectroscopy, and electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements.
