ChemInform Abstract: Three‐Component Condensation of Methoxyarenes with Isobutyraldehyde and α‐Substituted Benzyl Cyanides.

Abstract: Pyrrole derivatives R 0120Three-Component Condensation of Methoxyarenes with Isobutyraldehyde and α-Substituted Benzyl Cyanides. -The reaction of 1-methoxynaphthalene (I) with isobutyraldehyde (II) and cyanides affords spiro-fused dihydropyrrole derivatives. The analogous reaction of anisole (VII) leads either to related spiro-fused products or products of a subsequent dienone-phenol rearrangement [cf. (VIII)]. -(SHKLYAEV, Y. V.; EL'TSOV, M.
