ChemInform Abstract: α‐Benzylation of Ketones by Reaction with Benzylamine. Regioselective Reduction of C‐C Double Bonds in Conjugated Enones.

Abstract: ChemInform Abstract The reaction of ketones, e.g. (I), with benzylamine (II) for prolonged time leads to α-benzyl derivatives such as (III) which are most likely formed via Aldol condensation of ketimine intermediates with benzaldimine followed by reduction of the resulting C-C double bond. Benzaldimine results from the aerial oxidation of (II).
