Chiglino et al (2010) report d 13 C values for dolostones of the Mataojo Formation, which are almost invariably around 0 % V-PDB. d 13 C values around 0 % characterize Archean (3,500-2,450 Ma) and late Paleoproterozoic-early Mesoproterozoic (2,000-1,500 Ma) carbonates (Kah et al 1999;Bartley et al 2001Bartley et al , 2007Bartley and Kah 2004;Lindsay and Brasier, 2002).…”

“…Part of these units later proved to be Archean in age (Hartmann et al 2001), but continuing research showed that at least three different successions were actually deposited in the Mesoproterozoic. These are the Mataojo Formation (Chiglino et al 2010), the Parque UTE Group (Chiglino et al 2010) and the Mina Verdún Group (Poiré et al 2005;Poiré and Gaucher, 2009). Correlations of some Neoproterozoic carbonate-dominated successions in South America based on high-resolution chemostratigraphy
