Chemotherapeutic Activity of 5-Fluorocytosine Against a Lethal Candida albicans Infection in Mice

Abstract: Numerous strains of Candida were inhibited by low concentrations of 5-fluorocytosine in vitro. Marked increase in life span occurred in C. albicans-infected mice treated with 5-fluorocytosine.
