“…The hepatic factors include a small liver caused by cirrhosis and relaxation of the suspensory ligaments. 3,6,7 These intestinal, diaphragmatic, and hepatic factors predispose to Chilaiditi's syndrome, which is known to be a risk factor for colonic volvulus. In all of the five previous cases, an elongated and hypermobile colon with a long mesentery was the most important predisposing factor for Chilaiditi's syndrome and colonic volvulus; segmental agenesis of the liver is also a rare predisposing factor.…”
