Mechanical trauma due to scratching‐induced Koebner phenomenon, direct toxicity of drugs, delayed hypersensitivity, increased melanogenesis, and altered pigmentation have been proposed as possible mechanisms for causing flagellate dermatoses 5 . Pruritus along with dermal endothelial damage has been suggested to cause flagellate erythema in parvovirus B19 infection 6 .…”
