Chinese women in society: Confucian past, ambiguous emancipation and access to higher education

Abstract: The article aims to draw attention to educational inequalities concerning Chinese women. The text is dedicated to the following areas: Confucian conditions of social practices and beliefs, ambiguous emancipation in the post-imperial period, and contemporary problems of gender inequality in access to higher education.
