“…For example, the chainlike copper halides, namely, C 6 H 9 N 3 O 2 ·CuCl 2 · 1 / 2 H 2 O and [Cu­(lys)­Cl 2 ], contain copper ions that are chelated by the carboxyl oxygen and the amine nitrogen of l -histidine and l -lysine, respectively . The monomeric copper halides, namely, [( S )-NA] 2 [CuBr 4 ] and [( R )-NA] 2 [CuBr 4 ], integrate protonated amino acids and isolated CuBr 4 tetrahedra through N–H···Br hydrogen bonds .
