Chirurgische Maßnahmen zur Schmerzreduktion bei abdominalchirurgschen Eingriffen

Abstract

Surgical Procedures for Pain Reduction in Abdominal Surgery Surgical procedures often cause severe postoperative pain. Therefore, surgeons are responsible for an excellent perioperative pain treatment. Only a combination of all available analgesic therapies will result in optimal pain reduction after abdominal surgery. Preoperative patient information and education as well as preemptive analgesia decrease postoperative pain. Intraoperatively, skin incision with diathermia, transverse incisions, minimally invasive surgery, and application of local anesthetics may reduce postoperative pain. Optimal pain treatment is an essential element of the clinical ‘fast-track’ rehabilitation pathway that do require a close cooperation between patient, surgeon, anesthesiologist and nursing staff. A perioperative multimodal clinical pathway can accelerate convalescence and reduce the risk of general postoperative complications only if optimal analgesic therapy is applied.
