Abstract: Surgical Treatment of Chronic Pancreatitis Chronic pancreatitis is characterized by recurrent episodes of pancreatitis and a chronic pain syndrome. The pancreatic structure becomes more and more fibrotic, and the patients suffer from exocrine and endocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
