“…Chlorhexidine 0.12% solution was the only group that demonstrated an inhibition zone during the time of the study (data not shown). Contradictory results were observed by Mahapoka et al, who using the method of the agar diffusion, reported inhibition against (UA 159) S. mutans when 2% by weight of chitosan nanowhiskers was introduced into experimental resin‐based sealants. Possible explanations for the discrepancy of our results can be due to the type of chitosan used, and the actual amount of chitosan available to interact with the bacteria.…”
