Abstract: Treatment of 2-pyridyl-ferrocene wit [CpIrCl2]2 in the presence of NaOAc produces the title compound CpClIr[(C5H3C5H4N-кN,кC)Fe(C5H5)] (2) in low yield. A crystal structure determination shows the (SpSIr/RpRIr)-2 enantiomeric pair of diastereomers.
