“…Manual and automated lipoprotein electrophoresis, density‐gradient ultracentrifugation, various high‐performance liquid chromatography methods, and chemistry analyzers have been used to quantify lipoproteins in dogs. There is currently no established consensus on the gold standard methodology for lipoprotein measurements in dogs . Therefore, it is possible that lipoprotein concentrations measured by a different methodology, such as manual lipoprotein electrophoresis, could yield somewhat different results than those reported in this study.…”

“…There is currently no established consensus on the gold standard methodology for lipoprotein measurements in dogs. 5,[22][23][24][25] Therefore, it is possible that lipoprotein concentrations measured by a different methodology, such as manual lipoprotein electrophoresis, could yield somewhat different results than those reported in this study. However, the goal of this study was to compare lipoprotein lipid concentrations in dogs with and without DM.…”

“…If one of these components is impaired, dyslipidemia may occur and lead to various lipid deposits in tissues, atherosclerosis and/or cardiovascular diseases in humans [1,5,6]. Except for Intermediate-Density Lipoproteins (IDL) [7], all kinds of lipoproteins with overall same molecular characteristics are found in dogs, cats and horses [8] but surprisingly, primary atherosclerotic dyslipidemia are rarely observed in these domestic animals. The present mini review aims to compare the apolipoproteins components with human molecules, to emphasize some marked differences in cholesterol transport and to correlate the major dyslipidemias occurring in the three animal species to eventual anomalies in the lipoprotein metabolism.…”

“…Foram avaliadas cadelas obesas com ECC 8-9 e % de MG igual a 32,48 ± 6,43, mas as concentrações de colesterol total, triglicérides e LDL não ultrapassaram os valores de referência (JERICÓ et al, 2009;ODA et al, 2017). Entretanto, os benefícios do emagrecimento foram novamente constatados, a partir da melhora do perfil lipídico, com diminuição das concentrações de colesterol total, triglicérides, LDL e VLDL.…”
