Chromium-based metal organic framework for pipette tip micro-solid phase extraction: an effective approach for determination of methyl and propyl parabens in wastewater and shampoo samples

Abstract: Background A chromium-based metal organic framework was synthesized and employed as an efficient sorbent for pipette tip micro-solid phase extraction and preconcentration of parabens from wastewater and shampoo samples up to sub-ppb level before their spectrophotometric analysis. Results Factors affecting preconcentration including volume and type of solvent, amount of sorbent, number of extraction, and volume and pH of samples were optimized emplo… Show more

“…This novel nanostructure has high thermal stability (445 °C). As an important result, the thermal stability of Y-MOF nanostructures developed in this study is greatly increased compared to similar samples (Kaykhaii et al, 2021). This can be related to the choice of structure type as well as the method of the microwave route.…”

“…By changing metal oxides and organic linkers, it is possible to control the pore size, volume, and functionality of MOFs to adjust them for any designable applications. Also, the characteristics of MOFs mainly depend on the nature of the selected inorganic and organic nodes and ligands and their connectivity [69]. MOFs are also characterized by their ease of synthesis and modification [70].…”

“…In response to Green Analytical Chemistry (GAC), miniaturised SPE methods such as pipette tip solid-phase extraction (PT-SPE) employing MOFs as adsorbents have been reported [73][74][75][76][77][78]. For example, Su et al [78] developed PT-SPE based on amino functionalised MOF@COF hybrid adsorbent combined with HPLC-UV for the analysis of sulfonamides in environmental water.…”
