Chromosome behavior and the molecular basis of meiosis

Abstract: Meiosis is a distinctcell division pathway in gamete formation in sexually reproducing organisms. During meiosis, the chromosomes undergo only one round of replication, followed by two rounds of cell division to produce haploid gametes.
