Chronic Anthracycline-related Myocarditis Presenting as Diffuse Myocardial Calcification

Abstract: In the setting of cardio-oncology, evaluation for myocarditis is a growing indication for cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). Treatment-related side effects of cancer therapies comprise the majority of myocarditis cases in cardio-oncology, and these are often secondary to anthracyclines and even the newer class of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Cardiotoxicity from cancer therapy represents an increasingly recognized etiology of myocarditis and when detected, warrants prompt management changes. The conventi… Show more

“…In summary, under the solvothermal conditions, via the rigid π-conjugated connector of H 4 L (5,5 0 -(1,3,6,8tetraoxobenzo [lmn] [3], [8] phenanthroline-2-7-diyl) bis-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid) reacting with nitrogendonor auxiliary connectors and collating nitrate, two novel coordination polymers based on Co have been synthesized and characterized via the analysis of single-crystal X-ray diffraction and then characterized via the analysis of element, TG analysis, and PXRD as well as IR spectra. In biological study, the compounds were designed for the treatment of pediatric chronic myocarditis.…”

“…[1] Most patients infected with the virus have a self-limiting course of disease, but about 15-25% of patients still experience abnormalities in local collagen synthesis, deposition, and metabolism due to continuous viral replication and excessively activated immune responses after experiencing acute-stage disease. [2,3] The regulatory mechanism of viral myocarditis is complex and has not yet been fully defined.…”
