Abstract:Background: Hyponatremia is common, particularly among the elderly. Reset osmostat (RO) serves as an alternative diagnosis to the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuresis (SIAD). There is limited information available regarding the prevalence of RO in outpatient clinics and hospital wards. The water-diluting test is considered the gold standard for the diagnosis of RO.
