Applying Norm Activation Theory to tourism, this study develops a conceptual model for both tourists and residents starting from their awareness of the negative environmental consequences of tourism, addressing ascription of responsibility, environmental sensitivity, place attachment, and environmentally responsible behavior. This research shows that ascription of responsibility mediates the relationship between awareness of negative consequences and that environmentally responsible behavior and environmental sensitivity and place attachment moderate the mediation. Consequently, developing awareness of the consequences of tourism is important to developing strong responsibility ascription and environmentally responsible behavior. The model is split to compare residents and tourists, and systematic differences in the path estimates emerge for the two groups. Furthermore, different types of tourists are compared, revealing that awareness of the negative environmental consequences of tourism and ascription of responsibility are unvaried for new and experienced tourists, but that tourists’ visit length significantly affects both awareness and place attachment.

Analyses of Sustainable Development of Cultural and Creative Parks: A Pilot Study Based on the Approach of CiteSpace Knowledge Mapping

The rapid expansion of the cultural industry and the escalating demand for innovation have led to a growing attention on the sustainable development of cultural and creative parks. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review and prospectus of the literature on the sustainable development of these parks using CiteSpace knowledge mapping. We analyzed 662 publications from 2012 to 2023 in the Web of Science database using bibliometric methods, such as descriptive statistical analysis, network analysis, and co-citation analysis. Our findings indicate that research hotspots in the sustainable development of cultural and creative parks focus on cultural ecosystems, environmental conservation, cultural landscapes, creative tourism, park management, and urban renewal. Three primary research themes emerged: ecological service systems, assessment models, and multidimensional value. We propose five future prospects: (1) diversifying sustainable development strategies; (2) coordinating development with urban, regional, and global sustainable development goals; (3) enhancing interdisciplinary research; (4) deepening stakeholder participation; and (5) improving the evaluation index system for sustainable development. This study offers a systematic guiding framework for constructing multidimensional value for the sustainable development of cultural and creative parks, providing valuable insights for future theoretical and practical research.

Bagek Kembar mangrove ecotourism is a new tourist destination. Therefore, further management is needed by involving the public and related parties. In this regard, a study aimed to analyze public perceptions of ecotourism in the mangrove in Bagek Kembar. Public perception data was collected through a questionnaire combined with interviews. Respondents were determined by purposive technique and grouped into the general public, ecotourism managers, and tourists. Research data were analyzed descriptively and inferential statistics. Interpretation of the average value of respondents' perceptions of the Bagek Kembar mangrove ecotourism is grouped into four categories: low, moderately low, moderately high, and high. The results showed that the public perception of the Bagek Kembar mangrove ecotourism is moderately high (average score of 0.60). Meanwhile, the increase in facilities and infrastructure, as well as access to ecotourism, was perceived by respondents as moderately low, with an average score of 0.49 (facilities and infrastructure) and 0.48 (road access to ecotourism). All respondents (100%) stated that the Bagek Kembar mangrove ecotourism must be further managed and developed.
