Circular Economy and Internet of Things: Mapping Science of Case Studies in Manufacturing Industry

Abstract: This study investigates the “Internet of things” (IoT) and “Circular Economy” (CE) relationship in the current scientific literature focused on case studies or use cases on manufacturing context. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first to map the science centered on “case studies” with respect to the “IoT” and “CE” connection, contributing to fill the gap of the subject that is already relevant to the scientific community and practitioners. The research methodology consists of developing a biblio… Show more

“…Structured reviews assist researchers in finding research loopholes in theories and methods, and construction is based on compiled information [19]. To define and search what the factors that influence sustainability in HEIs are, literature reviews that incorporate PRISMA process as qualitative systematic review and science mapping as quantitative approach were conducted following the methodology of Cavalieri et al [20]. Science mapping was employed to assess the sustainability factors of HEIs that are globally studied by many researchers.…”

“…Bibliometric analysis could facilitate qualitative data analysis since it gave appropriate keywords (further defined as factors) that emerged from the research areas [29]. Qualitative content analysis consisted of summarizing, reorganizing, and reordering activity to explain the found factors [20]. The Mendeley Reference Manager was used to define the selected terms as a completed SWOT factor.…”

“…T IoT has promoted the common development of economy and ecology with its extensive communication, convenient communication and free discussion environment. Across the IoT, people and things can be closely linked (Cavalieri et al, 2021;Yi, 2021). The Internet era has given birth to the IoT and promoted the development of transportation and warehouse management (WM).…”
