Every time a paper is submitted to the journal, we realize the effort and amount of work it takes for performing the study, writing, formatting, and submitting the paper for peer review. However, how many of these papers are suitable for publication? Medical writing considerations, including an understandable text that does not confuse reading, formality, and ethics in writing, should be kept in mind when preparing and writing a paper to be submitted for publication to a journal. This editorial note offers useful advice for the authors submitting their papers to a journal on what to keep in mind before submission, how to prepare a quality submission, how to win the editor for their paper to avoid rejection, and how to make it to the review process and maybe to get published. It is our belief that these tips and advice on medical writing apply to any author and any journal.

Outbreak of COVID-19 in different countries is an emergency in global public health recently. According to high spread of the newborn virus, airborne transmission potency of SARS-CoV-2 is possible. Until now, there are contradictory results for air evaluation of newborn virus in the contaminated area. We studied SARS-CoV-2 in the patient room of a hospital by two air sampling strategies. Filtration method and liquid impaction sampling were used simultaneously to assess SARS-CoV-2 in air. Indoor air of seven stations in three hospital wards was evaluated according to glass midget impinger and polytetrafluoroethylene filter. RNA of SARS-CoV-2 was evaluated by real time reverse transcription-PCR. Studied rooms were contaminated by eleven confirmed patients and four suspected cases. Our results show polytetrafluoroethylene filtration and DMEM impaction could not determine the viral concentration in the air samples. The concentration of SARS-CoV-2 in air samples is a trace in the studied stations. In conclusion, sampling strategy is a challenge for newborn virus due to the level of SARS-CoV-2 virus in the air. A trace level of SARS-CoV-2 in the contaminated area could be highlighted higher pathogenicity properties, not disapproval of airborne properties. However, more studies should be performed to characterize new properties of SARS-CoV-2 in the contaminated air.

Yapay zeka tabanlı çalışmalar, iş sektörlerinde karar destek sistemi oluşturmak, etkili çıktılar üretmek, sistem verimliliğini arttırmak ve maliyet etkin çözümler sunmak için büyük bir ilgi odağına sahiptir. Özellikle inovasyon sürecinin gelişmesinde, hızlanmasında ve hedef alana evrilmesinde yapay zeka tabanlı çalışmalar ile yenilikler sağlanmaktadır. Bu yeniliklerin gerçekleşmesinde veri, kritik bir anlama sahiptir. Algoritmalar vasıtasıyla eğitilen modellerin bilgisayarlar ya da özel makineler tarafından işlevselleştirilmesinde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bununla birlikte yetersiz veri erişimi, yasal düzenlemeler, etik kurallar, gizlilik prosedürleri, mahremiyet, veri paylaşım kısıtı ve maliyet; verilerin sahip olduğu potansiyelin açığa çıkarılmasının önündeki engellerdir. Bu engelleri aşmak için sentetik veri üretme yaklaşımı tercih edilmektedir. Fakat sentetik veri üretme yaklaşımına ilişkin standart bir çerçeve olmadığı için yeni ve güncel yaklaşımların geliştirilmesine yönelik araştırmalar devam etmektedir. Bu çalışmada genetik algoritma temelli yeni bir sentetik veri üretme yaklaşımı önerilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda orijinal veri kümesinin dinamiğinde yapay veriler üretmek için hedef veri kümesine uyarlanan çaprazlama ve mutasyon genetik operatörleri kullanılarak veri çeşitliliği arttırılmıştır ve yeni bir nesil elde edilmiştir. Ardından üretilen bu nesildeki yapay örneklerin kategori tanımlaması, genetik algoritmanın maliyet fonksiyon bileşeni kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Son aşamada üretilen yapay verilerin orijinal verilere benzerliğinin başarısını ölçmek için 6 farklı makine öğrenmesi sınıflandırıcısı kullanılmıştır. Zenginleştirilen veri kümesi üzerinde Destek Vektör Makinesi sınıflandırıcısı ile maksimum duyarlılık ölçütü, %100 olarak elde edilmiştir. Bu durum artan veri sayısı ile orantılı olarak eğitim başarısının pozitif yönde eğilim gösterdiğini ifade etmektedir.
