Classroom support and system administration support for large‐scale educational computer system

Abstract: SUMMARYUniversity and other educational computer systems may have several thousands to several tens of thousands of users, and several hundreds to several thousands of terminals. When the scale of the system is enlarged, not only is the burden of management increased, but various problems are produced in the system configuration and administration due to the character of the educational system, in which many identical manipulations are performed at the same time. This study was performed in the educational com… Show more

“…Let DC(i) denote the degree of concentration of item i (i=Cp, Cy, Ce, and Ca), and FC denote the final degree of concentration. When 10 seconds elapsed, the degree of concentration of each item is calculated by (1), and the final degree of concentration is clculated by (2). DC For example, when the value of Pitch is 7, the value of Yaw is 7, the value of Engaged is 8, and the value of both eyes is 6, then the degrees of concentration DC(Cp), DC(Cy), DC(Ce), and DC(Ca) are 70%, 70%, 80%, 60%, respectively.…”

“…Let C p and k p denote the concentration rate of portion p and the number of frames including detected portion p during 10 seconds, respectively. Then, C p is calculated as follows: 10 p p k C (1) The integrated concentration C is calculated as follows: In (2), N is the number of portions and the move used for detection. When C is smaller than a threshold determined beforehand, the system displays a message with sound to warn the student.…”
