“…A recent study points out that, compared with technical and economic perspectives, topics such as social dimensions, architecture, built environment, and ecosystems urgently need to be addressed (Lin et al, 2021). Another review of Taiwan's climate change research also highlights the lack of a social and interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary approach, as well as the gap between the science and policy interface (Lee et al, 2022). Our closer reading on the social science literature further pinpoints that the subject of social inequality, while central to the climate crisis, rarely appears in our literature search.…”

“…Taiwan's climate actions are often off climate observers' radar and difficult to access due to the misrecognition of Taiwan's status (Mabon & Shih, 2021). Our review shows that Taiwanese environmental scientists, engineers, and economists tend to dominate the country's research network (Chen, 2021; Huang & Wu, 2009; Hwang, 2011; Hwang & Chang, 2011; Tung et al, 2013; Young & Huang, 2012), and there is a general lack of in‐depth analysis from social‐political dimensions (Lee et al, 2022; Lin et al, 2021; Lu et al, 2015). This focus article is intended to help scholars quickly gain a general understanding of the politics of climate change in Taiwan.…”

“…It is projected that global warming may surpass 1.5 • C within the next two decades. In contemporary times, climate change has emerged as a crucial area of academic inquiry [2,3]. One of the primary drivers of climate warming is the persistent escalation of carbon dioxide emissions [4].…”

“…In this paper, the general goal is to analyze the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of land-use carbon emissions in Guizhou Province from 2009 to 2019, and to put forward thoughts and suggestions for low-carbon development in Guizhou Province and other regions of China. The specific goals of this paper are as follows: (1) to analyze the characteristics of changes in land-use structure; (2) to explore changes in land-use carbon emissions and their influencing factors; and (3) to characterize the spatial evolution characteristics of land-use carbon emissions. The research results provide rigorous and scientific data to support the ministry of natural resources and government departments in their work in relation to land planning and formulating regional carbon emissions reduction policies.…”
