“…En los pacientes con xerostomía, es de suma importancia que el tratamiento incluya evaluaciones dentales frecuentes, las instrucciones de higiene oral son esenciales para prevenir la caries y otras infecciones orales (34), en el caso reportado el uso de nistatina en enjuagues una vez al día como mantenimiento favoreció que no tuviera más infecciones fúngicas. El uso de pasta dental y enjuague bucal a base de triclosán, fluoruro, revitalizadores gingivales y sales minerales, mejora la calidad de vida de los pacientes que sufren xerostomía; se deben evitar los que incluyan laurilsulfato de sodio, aromas fuertes y alcohol ya que agravarían la sequedad oral exacerbando los síntomas (35). El Kin Hidrat® pasta, colutorio y spray es una buena opción ya que contienen ácido cítrico, flúor y xilitol; en nuestro caso le ayudó inicialmente a la paciente.…”
