Abstract:The prevalence of pituitary adenomas in the population among tumors of the central nervous system is about 17%. Pituitary adenomas are divided into non-functional (about 36–54%), characterized by the absence of secretory activity, and functional (about 46–64%), secreting hormones or their subunits.
