Clinical outcomes of two different endometrial preparation methods for cryopreserved‐thawed embryo transfer in patients with a normal menstrual cycle

Abstract: Aim:To compare the clinical outcomes of cryopreservedthawed embryo transfer among patients with a normal menstrual cycle who had natural or hormone-replacement cycles. Results: Cryopreserved-thawed embryo transfer in patients who had a natural or hormone-replacement cycle resulted in clinical pregnancy in 43.1% and 40.4%, respectively; a rate of miscarriage of 14.5% and 23.6%, respectively; and a rate of ongoing pregnancy and delivery of 36.5% and 30.9%, respectively. None of these differences were statistical… Show more

“…Gardner's classification was used for embryo scoring before transfer [9]. A single blastocyst was transferred on day 5 of a natural cycle or day 6 of a hormone replacement cycle [10,11]. For endometrial preparation, Estrana® (Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co. Inc., Saga, Japan) was begun on the third menstrual day and continued until endometrial thickness was >8 mm.…”

“…Without LPS, there was no significant difference for clinical pregnancy (OR 1.08, 95 % CI 0.88-1.33; two studies) or live birth rates (OR 1.23 95 % CI 0.98-1.55; two studies). In four studies, LPS was administered in the mNC arm [32,35,51,52] With LPS, the ORs for clinical pregnancy and live …”

“…The freezing of all the embryos in those at high risk of moderate to severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is an essential strategy to avoid this complication. Furthermore, the cryopreservation of embryos after fresh embryo transfer (ET) provides the possibility of further embryo transfers to increase cumulative pregnancy rates per oocyte pick-up (OPU) cycle in a cost-effective way [Kawamura et al 2007;Alama et al 2007;Ghobara et al 2008]. …”
