Abstract: Introduction: Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is characterized by intermittent partial or complete obstruction of the airways during sleep and is called OSAS syndrome when associated with day/night symptoms and/or comorbidities, such as systemic arterial hypertension or diabetes mellitus.
