Although no study has formally compared the need for surgery in this group, our own analysis [10] showed that almost a third (32%) of PI eventually required surgical management as opposed to 46% of the clinically manifesting pituitary adenomas. Whether long-term outcomes of PI with or without treatment are different, remain to be studied.…”
