Clinician stakeholder experiences of a new youth mental health model in Australia: A qualitative study

Abstract: Aim Late teens and early adulthood is the peak age of onset for mental disorders. Currently, there is a gap between primary mental health care and more intensive mental health services for young people in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. “…The inconsistent reporting of outcome measures in the electronic medical record system is an important finding. Staff factors may have impacted on this finding, as hEIT is a small team, and in 2018 had annual funding and contracts, therefore vulnerable to staff shortages (Nash et al, 2021). Indeed, staff shortages occurred during the 6 months of this project, resulting in an increase in workload for the remaining team and a closure to new referrals for a 6-week period.…”
