Abstract:Pathological aggregation of a specific protein into insoluble aggregates is a common hallmark of various neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs). In the earlier literature, each NDD is characterized by the aggregation of one or two pathogenic proteins, which can serve as disease-specific biomarkers.
