Abstract: This chapter traces how threats against the press, enabled by the Espionage Act, significantly accelerate under the Obama administration. An unprecedented number of government officials are prosecuted for disclosures to journalists, including Thomas Drake, Stephen Kim, Jeffrey Sterling, and John Kiriakou.
