“…Vendor 38 proposed a U-tube bundle; vendor 28 suggested a special U-tube' bundle with inl'et flow centkred into the bends with a return gas flow on the periphery because of the tube-side temperature differential between the inlet and outlet. Vendor 6 proposed that the fluids be reversed and that a horizontal U-tube arrangement of 304 stainless steel construction be used.Vendors 6,9, and 28 all suggest a differential or balanced pressure design for the tube sheets to minimize their thickness. An all-welded construction was also suggested by vendors 9 and 28.…”
