Coastal Shuttle Tanker Scheduling Model Considering Inventory Cost and System Reliability

Abstract: The near-sea offshore oil extraction and transportation system use heterogeneous fleets to transfer crude oil from the floating production storage and offloading to the land-based oil storage port. Based on the characteristics of this system, the short sea inventory routing problem is investigated considering the shuttle tanker fleet and inventory management. In order to minimize the total operation cost and maximize the system reliability, a semi-continuous model for the shuttle tanker scheduling problem is e… Show more

“…One of the recent works in the area of inventory routing is [36], in which the authors develop a MILP model addressing multi-visit multi-voyage shu le tanker scheduling with a heterogeneous tanker fleet. An example of a multi-objective decision-making problem may be found in [37], where the authors consider the reliability of shu le tanker operational schedules in addition to the traditional cost minimization objective. The following subsections discuss the existing literature on integrating key logistical decisions for coordinating various segments of the petroleum supply chain.…”

“…Constraint (18) guarantees that the cycle supply of every hub island transported by the BFR does not exceed the deadweight of the ship equipped with the BFRGs. Constraint (19) requires that the total cycle supply of the hub islands transported by any CR in the main network should not exceed the deadweight of the ship equipped with the CR. Constraints (20) and (21) enforce the value range of the schedule of the BFRGs and CRs, respectively, in the branch network.…”

“…Rusdianto et al [16] developed a mixed-integer planning model for the MIRP problem of cement transport to minimise transport costs. Dauzere-Peres et al [17], Christiansen et al [18] and Yang et al [19] studied the MIRP using genetic algorithms. Moin et al [20] solved an IRP with a finite horizon, multiple periods, multiple suppliers, and multiple products using a hybrid genetic algorithm.…”

“…e primary objective of selecting and establishing a distribution center is to save money on logistics operations. erefore, when measuring the indicators of cross-border e-commerce supply imbalance [7,8], it is necessary to first calculate the inventory center's construction, inventory, and transfer costs [9,10]. e initial construction cost of the inventory center is the highest among 2…”

“…In formula (10), r i represents the annual demand of inventory, v i represents the annual inventory value, H 0 represents the annual storage cost, in which the individual storage cost accounts for a small proportion of the total expenditure. erefore, considering the comprehensive storage cost, the cost is defined to be proportional to the inventory, and the risk coefficient is introduced in combination with the historical experience data.…”
