Cobalt phthalocyanine sensitized MOF on MOF: UiO-66@MIL-88B(Fe)/CoTAPc, photocatalytic activity in the degradation of acid black 210

Abstract: A novel ternary photocatalyst consisting of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoTAPc)-sensitized MOF on MOF: UiO-66@MIL-88B/CoTAPc has been constructed through an in-situ two-steps process. The close-crossed interface in UiO-66@MIL-88B endows them with an...

“…Following the sulfurization process and Zn(III) ion exchange, QDs@M- t -Zn exhibits increased visible light absorption between 400 and 800 nm in wavelength. Based on the Tauc plots formula, the band gap energies ( E g ) can be derived as (α h ν) n = A ( h ν – E g ), where h is the Planck constant, ν is the frequency vibration, and A is the proportionality constant . ZAIS, MIL-68(In), QDs@MIL-68(In), and QDs@M- t -Zn all had direct transition characteristics; hence, n = 2 was chosen for the samples. , Based on that, the replotted curves of (α h ν) 2 versus the light energy ( h ν) are displayed in Figure S8b–i and Figure S9b–d, and the band gap energies of ZAIS, MIL-68(In), QDs@MIL-68(In), and QDs@M- t -Zn are determined to be 2.01, 3.98, 3.91, 2.38, 2.36, 2.35, 2.33, 2.35, and 2.36 eV, respectively.…”

“…The Mott–Schottky curves of the polymer before and after SDBS modulation at various frequencies implied positive slopes, which belong to n-type semiconductors. The conduction band (CB) energy (−0.95 V vs NHE) of TCPP-PEI 70K -FITC@Yb/SDBS is more negative than the O 2 /•O 2 – reduction potential and is suitable for the formation of superoxide anion radicals. The valence band (VB) energy of TCPP-PEI 70K -FITC@Yb/SDBS was 1.97 V vs NHE, estimated from the bandgap and the conduction band position. The VB potential is more positive than the oxidation potential of the O 2 / 1 O 2 oxidation potential, suggesting that 1 O 2 could be efficiently generated.…”

“…5,6 As a result, efficient removal of these dyes from wastewater is essential and urgent in wastewater treatment. Various methods, such as solid adsorption, 7,8 coagulation, 9 biotechnology, 10 advanced oxidation, 11 photocatalysis, 12,13 and membrane separation, 14 have been extensively studied. Among them, solid adsorption is one of the most commonly used methods due to its low cost, high efficiency, easy operation, and environmental friendliness.…”
