“…The exploratory factor analysis of age differences shows that adults aged 60 + more consistently rely on affective and experiential information processing than adults aged < 60. This can be explained by the decline of cognitive information processing associated with ageing, where older individuals tend to process less information and make qualitatively judgments guided by affect (Helm and Reyna, 2018;Mikels et al, 2015;Peters et al, 2008;Reyna et al, 2015;Rivers et al, 2008). This information is relevant for transportation agencies that aim at increasing active mobility through community programs and behaviour change interventions, given that different populations will be more responsive to particular information formats (numerical vs affective/experiential).…”
