Abstract:One-third of humanity harbors a lifelong infection with Toxoplasma gondii. This parasite undergoes sexual reproduction in cats and asexual reproduction in any warm-blooded intermediate hosts. The cycle progresses as cats ingest these hosts, containing the parasite's tissue cysts.
