Abstract:A growing body of evidence reveals that charge density wave (CDW) transport is a high-temperature cooperative quantum phenomenon. According to the time-correlated soliton tunneling (ST) model, quantum solitons, or electron-phonon correlates within the CDW condensate, act much like electrons tunneling through a Coulomb-blockade tunnel junction. Pair creation of charged fluidic soliton droplets is prevented by their electrostatic energy below a Coulomb-blockade threshold electric field. Above threshold, the quan… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
