Cold Metal Transfer Welding–Brazing of Pure Titanium TA2 to Aluminum Alloy 6061‐T6

Abstract: Pure titanium TA2 and aluminum alloy 6061-T6 are joined using AlSi5 filler wire by cold metal transfer (CMT) process in the form of two lap configurations. Results indicate that these two various lap joints are both composed of fusion welded joint and brazing joint. The fusion welded joint consists of a-Al solid solution and Al-Si eutectic.
