Collaborative Efforts: Raising Students’ Multicultural Consciousness through Academic Affairs and Student Affairs Partnerships

Abstract: This article presents the need to shift language around multicultural competence to multicultural consciousness in the context of college students' learning and development. Engaging in collaboration between academic and student affairs around multicultural consciousness supports student learning. Finally, the article outlines examples of three collaborations that can enrich students' learning and development in the area of multicultural consciousness.
