AbstractLocal language cultures that are rich in natural knowledge are becoming extinct. The extinction of these languages certainly increases the threat to the ecosystem. As a language model, AI can create new language trends that support language extinction. However, the author also provides a series of concrete steps to use AI as a language digitization effort. With an ecolinguistic-ecodigital approach and through computational studies of language, AI is expected to contribute to language rescue. With these language revitalization steps, human-human language interactions in the community, humans with nature are better facilitated. The interactional relationship is considered to ensure environmental sustainability.Keywords: artificial intelligence, ecodigital, ecolinguistic, language revitalizationAbstrak Budaya bahasa lokal yang kaya akan pengetahuan alam mulai punah. Kepunahan bahasa-bahasa ini tentu meningkatkan ancaman terhadap ekosistem. Sebagai sebuah model bahasa, AI dapat menciptakan tren bahasa baru yang mendukung kepunahan bahasa. Namun, penulis juga memberikan serangkaian langkah konkret untuk menggunakan AI sebagai upaya digitalisasi bahasa. Dengan pendekatan ekolinguistik-ekodigital dan melalui studi komputasi bahasa, AI diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam penyelamatan bahasa. Dengan langkah-langkah revitalisasi bahasa tersebut, interaksi bahasa manusia-manusia di masyarakat, manusia dengan alam menjadi lebih terfasilitasi. This study investigates endangered language preservation through three research questions: risk factors for endangerment, socio-cultural effects of language loss, and complexities in preservation and revitalisation. A qualitative systematic review underscores the cultural, historical and intellectual importance of endangered languages. It identifies globalisation, urbanisation, and dominant languages as key accelerators of linguistic endangerment. The findings indicate significant sociocultural consequences of language loss, notably the decline of cultural identity and heritage. The study concludes that community involvement, technological advancements, and supportive government policies are crucial to successful preservation, ensuring that at-risk languages are maintained and revitalised for future generations.

Critical language pedagogy involves addressing the relationships between power, identity, language, and education. In recent decades, there has been an increase in the understanding of the importance of language revitalization, and many minority and endangered language groups are choosing to teach through the medium of non-dominant languages. This qualitative study looks at the role of critical language pedagogy of teachers within the Gaelic Medium Education (GME) system of schooling in Scotland. Following a phenomenological approach, the researcher interviewed three GME teachers about their backgrounds and experiences. Using closed-coding and critical discourse analysis (CDA), a number of themes emerged. All three participants, despite having had limited formal education in the areas of second language acquisition and critical theory, demonstrated an understanding of critical language pedagogy. With GME seeing an increase in enrollment, there is still much to be done in teacher education in Scotland with regard to critical consciousness.
