“…The descriptive sign of irregularly branching vessels with chaotic flow appears to be useful in the diagnosis of malignant breast tumours, as all such cases were proved to be malignant. This observation is similar to that of Raza et al 5 Other parameters of blood flow like average number of vessels per square centimeter and average density of colour pixels, used by early workers 3,13 were not utilized in the present study, as they are semiquantitative in nature. The average peak systolic velocity in the malignant tumours is more than that in benign ones, in the present study; however the distribution of the velocities is over a very wide range within benign or malignant tumours, resulting in wide degree of overlap on comparison of the two; this precludes the possibility of using PSV in differentiating malignanttumours from the benigno9 ones.…”

“…The color gain was increased until background noise appeared and then reduced until the noise was suppressed, thus ensuring maximum sensitivity. 6,7 When consistent Doppler signals were obtained, the color map was used to guide placement of the pulsed Doppler gate, and tracings of the arterial signal were recorded using a sample volume of 1 mm. The vascular resistance was evaluated at random sites within 3 vessels that consistently showed 3 consecutive Doppler spectral waveforms.…”

“…Arteriovenöz şant oluşumu, yüksek sistolik hızlı akım; damar duvarındaki düz kasların azlığı yada yokluğu ise düşük dirençli akım olarak doppler US'ye yansıyarak benign-malign tümör ayırıcı tanısında RDUS ile değerli fikirler alınmasına olanak sağla-mıştır. Meme kitlelerinde Doppler ultrasonografi pek çok araştırmaya konu olmuştur (5,(8)(9)(10). Değişik Doppler US yöntemleri kullanı-lan bu çalışmalarda araştırmacı-lar farklı Doppler parametreleri kullanmışlardır (5,(8)(9)(10)(11)(12)(13).…”
