Color Image Analysis by Quaternion-Type Moments

Abstract: In this paper, by using the quaternion algebra, the conventional complex-type moments (CTMs) for gray-scale images are generalized to color images as quaternion-type moments (QTMs) in a holistic manner. We first provide a general formula of QTMs from which we derive a set of quaternion-valued QTM invariants (QTMIs) to image rotation, scale and translation transformations by eliminating the influence of transformation parameters. An efficient computation algorithm is also proposed so as to reduce computational … Show more

“…Secondly, in the future, more engineering optimization problems will be used to further verify our proposed method, such as flowshop scheduling problems (FSP) [74][75] , image processing [76][77] , video coding 78 , and wireless sensor networks 79 . Thirdly, our proposed method will surely work well in combination with other computational intelligence algorithms, such as minimax probability machine 79 , support vector classification 81 , fuzzy C-means 82 , and least significant bit (LSB) matching [83][84] .…”

“…Data protection techniques, include steganography, watermarking, copy-move forgery detection, encryption are in increasing demand [24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]. The simplicity and elegance of the classical Fourier based Double Random Phase Encryption system (DRPE), has led to proposals for numerous techniques over the past two decades [4].…”
