Color Recognition of Video Object Based on HSV Model

Abstract: In the presented paper, we proposed a common color model and designed the color judgment method, which is based on the HSV model. This method will translate the RGB values of the points in video images to HSV values, and use HSV values to recognize the color. After that, software of real-time video object recognition was developed based on color features, which is also based on their search of target color identification. Besides, the system is developed by VC based on OpenCV, which has achieved the goal of re… Show more

“…In terms of color similarity, HSV color space is the most recent human subjective recognition color space, which consists of three components: H (hue), S (saturation), and V (Value) (Cai et al, 2012). Since the picture information in HSV color space is better than RGB color space, the HSV color space vector is chosen to be h, s, v components are involved in the cosine distance; and Euclidean distance calculation.…”

“…With the use of the vector p (Figure 11), which describes the position of the tip of the end-effector in relation to the tool center point (TCP) and the proper kinematics matrix, the Euler angles are calculated. The vector p is described by the equation (16).…”

“…Initially, the actual RGB values that the vision system was perceiving each different color were calculated. Afterwards, these values were converted to HSV colorspace [16] and based on them, a lower thresholding set [H l , S l , V l ] and an upper one [H u , S u , V u ] were selected. The above procedure was implemented in order to expand the region of possible H values representing small deviations of the same color.…”
