Combination of Dehumidifier, Heat Pump and Air Heater: Influence of Temperature, Specific Humidity, And Mass Flow Rate of Air on Specific Energy Consumption

Abstract: The temperature and drying conditions imposed on a product have an essential influence on it. Drying in high temperatures can cause damage the sensitive materials. To overcome this problem, in this paper, to show the effect of temperature, specific humidity and mass flow rate, on the specific energy consumption on the use of air heaters, and the combination refrigeration system to produce hot and dry air. In this study, we use an experimental method by using temperature variations of 60°C, 90°C, 120°C, and 150… Show more

“…The electric heater acts as the primary air heater, while the heat source from the condenser is integrated with the cooling system. This refrigeration system helps to dry humid air at low temperatures in the evaporator refrigeration system [27,28]. Furthermore, the high-temperature condenser (output from the compressor) can be used for heat recovery.…”

“…Because the study by ( Zikri et al, 2020 ) focuses solely on the drying system, the SEC refers to the amount of energy required to generate dry air. When the RSEC value for a refrigeration system (with R134a as the working fluid) is less than 1, the energy consumption for a dehumidifier at the same refrigeration system heating temperature is lower than for just heating.…”
