Combination of the CEEM Decomposition with Adaptive Noise and Periodogram Technique for ECG Signals Analysis

Abstract: The electrocardiogram (ECG) signal is a fundamental tool for patient treatment, especially in the cardiology domain, due to the high mortality rate of heart diseases. The main objective of this paper is to present the most optimal techniques that can link the processing and analysis of ECG signals. This work is divided into two steps. In the first one, we propose a comparison between some denoising techniques that can reduce noise affecting the ECG signals; these techniques are the empirical mode decomposition… Show more

“…The pitfalls that appeared in EMD and EEMD were overcome by applying complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) that uses the noise auxiliary. This method gives a correct restoration of biomedical signals and perfect spectra of the decomposed mode [17]- [19]. The iterations presented in EEMD are more than iterations of the CEEMDAN method.…”

“…In this paper, the methods as Empirical Mode Decomposition EMD and its recent versions Ensemble EMD (EEMD) and completed EEMD with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) and the new version of these techniques have been proposed. These methods are tested in various areas as geophysical logging data, rotating machinery, changing climate and biomedical signals [5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12]. The EMD technique is a suitable tool for decomposing the non-stationary signal.…”
