Abstract:Therapy for malignancies may alter the distribution of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose . A case in which effects of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF) and radiation were jointly shown is presented. High marrow uptake resulting from GCSF and regionally low uptake within a radiation port were evident in a 7-year-old girl being treated for rhabdomyosarcoma. The case illustrates the importance of recognizing changes that can result from therapy.
