Combined FDTD/FETD algorithm for ground bounce characterization of differential traces through the planes

Abstract

Based on the hybridization offinite-different andfinite-element time-domain (FDTD/FETD) algorithms, a versatile local mesh refinement scheme is proposed to characterize the ground bounce ofdifferential traces through the planes. In comparison with the conventional FDTD algorithm, the hybrid method is found to have the more computational efficiency without degrading its simulation accuracy.
