“…Although there is a significant research gap in this area, several studies have found a relationship between exposure to formula advertising and declines in breastfeeding initiation, duration or intensity. Research conducted in developed countries has found that mothers who see formula advertising during their pregnancies or shortly after birth were more likely to be using infant formula at 0–2 weeks and 8–10 weeks and less likely to be breastfeeding at all time points 18 44 45.
