Effective communication is crucial for cohesive team dynamics in higher education settings, going beyond individual interaction. This chapter discussed the effective communication and information sharing towards the development effective and high Performing teams in higher education. In higher education institutions, email, bulletin boards, messaging applications, and questionnaires are efficient means of communication in order for high performing teams. It is revealed that communication obstacles including language, cultural, psychological, emotional, environmental, and physical barriers are the main hindrance of effective communication. In order to surmount these challenges, the study proposes an emotional intelligence model of communication to overcome the identified obstacles because they have psychological impact on communicators and for the development of high performing teams. As a result, recommend that self-acknowledgment and positive interpersonal relationships, which are fundamental components of emotional intelligence be considered to develop high performing teams.
